Park St. Music & Community Fest: Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Labor Temple Grounds Madison, WI
Next Level Park St. Music & Community Fest
Next Level Showcase Park St. Music & Community Fest is in its seventh year. The Next Level Artists Showcase is a free outdoor music event that serves as a platform to reduce the effects of disparities on marginalized communities and improve race relations. Next Level Showcase: Park St. Music & Community Fest is designed to integrate live music with community components. The music delivers high-quality promotional exposure and production for aspiring local artists. The community aspect provides healthcare activities, education, and information resources via workshops (i.e., life skills, 5K walk, health & wellness) and discussions that address disparities in the Black community while serving as a family event. The Next Level Artists Showcase Park St. Music & Community Fest will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Labor Temple Grounds in Madison, WI. NLSPSMC will bring people together who are from different ethnicities, age groups, and socio-economic backgrounds to enjoy one of Madison’s prime events. The 2017 inaugural Next Level Artists Showcase was a huge success. People loved the idea of having a music and community festival in South Madison. The beauty of Next Level Showcase Park St. Music & Community Fest is that it is viewed as an on-ramp to allowing access to information and resources that enhances Black advancement. Additionally, considering the recent negative occurrences in Madison and around the country involving race and diversity, this project brings the community together.
There are several integral objectives associated with Next Level Showcase Park St. Music & Community Fest: (1.) Provide a connection between vendors and community (2.) Provide a family-oriented community building experience. (3.) Enrich lives by bringing people together who are from different ethnicities, age groups, and socio-economic backgrounds. (4.) Provide content that assist individuals in gaining life skills. (5.) Provide a positive space where youth can come together in a safe environment. (6) Provide preventative health screenings.
