Fall Gospel Fest
November 12, 2022, PEBOGA hosted its 18th Annual Fall Gospel Fest. After two consecutive years of presenting virtually, Fall Gospel Fest returned to an in-person format at the Overture Center. Fall Gospel Fest is an inspirational music event that features national award-winning gospel recording artists who share the stage with aspiring local artists in a one-day music event filled with energy, fellowship, great artists, and community spirit. Saturday, November 9, 2024, Fall Gospel Fest will be hosting its 20th annual event. The concert will be held at 6:30pm at Mitby Theater, Madison College.
This year’s event is currently looking at selecting national award-winning artists from the following names: Smokie Norful, Ricky Dillard, The Clark Sisters, Anthony Brown & Group Therapy, and Doe. Fall Gospel Fest is PEBOGA‘s signature event and was designed with the idea of bringing people who are from different races, age groups, socio-economic statuses and backgrounds together to enjoy the rich tradition of gospel music while at the same time filling a gospel music void in Madison. Fall Gospel Fest is creative in the sense that it combines a diverse line-up of artists (e.g., comedians, dancers, choirs, quartets, youth groups, and soloists) into a single event. Fall Gospel Fest incorporates messages of hope, spiritual healing, encouragement, and self-determination; elements that make this a fantastic event.
Ever since the inaugural Fall Gospel Fest, it has become an event people look forward to attending. Fall Gospel Fest has a core following of several hundred people who are primarily from the Black community. In addition to Dane County, this event draws people from Beloit, Janesville, Milwaukee and as well as neighboring states. Fall Gospel Fest has continuously reached out to the individuals 12-18 years of age highlighting the fact Fall Gospel Fest provides a safe space for Black youth to come together. During the past 18 years, Fall Gospel Fest, has collaborated with several organizations including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County, Urban League, and the YWCA in helping to identify a segment of youth, families and individuals who cannot afford to attend.
There are several integral objectives associated with Fall Gospel Fest (1) Provide an environment and awareness of spiritual healing (2.) Provide a connection between vendors and community (3.) Provide a family-oriented community building experience. (4.) Enrich lives by bringing people together who are from different ethnicities, age groups, and socio-economic backgrounds. (5.)
